Matcha Milanos

What are milanos?

Milanos are essentially cookie sandwiches that consist of two thin, buttery cookies with a layer of sweet chocolate stuffed in between. These cookies can be found on shelves across the United States and are owned by Pepperidge Farm. They’re beloved by basically anyone who has ever tried them they’re made all the more tantalizing by the fact that they come in a variety of flavors, keeping these cookies from ever getting too boring.

Over the years Pepperidge Farm has released countless flavors: orange, mint, raspberry, caramel macchiato, and even irish cream, but to date, I have never been able to find matcha flavored ones. I felt like the slightly bitter flavor of matcha could pair really well with a buttery crisp cookie like a Milano so I set out to make my own!

How do these compare to a regular Milano?

While nothing can ever really compare to the joy of going to the grocery store, picking out a fresh bag of Milanos from the shelves, ripping open that pristine paperwhite packaging, and then gorging on more cookies than should be possible in one sitting, this rendition of a Milano comes pretty darn close! These cookies are incredibly crisp and are a bit sweeter than the average Milano due to the use of white chocolate for the middle layer. They still pack the same buttery and light touch as a regular Milano and are made even better when dipped into a warm cup of matcha latte!

An interesting discussion is worth comment. I think that you should write more on this topic, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers
