Strawberry Jasmine Green Milk Tea

by ryanllee

As spring draws to an end and summer comes to a start, there’s nothing that better screams summertime than strawberry season and nothing pairs better with strawberries than milk tea 😉

The fresh, sweet, slightly acidic taste of this strawberry puree pairs so perfectly with the aromatic, light, clean flavor of jasmine tea. Turning this into a milk tea by adding some half and half introduces some creaminess that really rounds everything else out!

One of my favorite boba shops in the Bay Area had added this new item onto their menu a while back ago and that became the inspiration for this recipe! To be completely honest, I don’t usually gravitate towards fruit flavored milk teas because, at most places, they taste incredibly artificial, but this place had made it so well. The strawberries paired so well with the green tea and it easily became my go to drink there!

I tend to steep green tea for a little bit longer than I do black tea because I find that green tea has a more subtle, lighter flavor. Steeping it for a bit longer helps to extract more of that flavor out and get it into the milk tea. Be careful about steeping it for too long though because it can easily make your milk tea too astringent because of all that tannic acid!

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between usability and appearance. I must say that you’ve done a fantastic job with this. Additionally, the blog loads very fast for me on Internet explorer. Outstanding Blog!
